Mrs. Kathy James is a 1981 graduate of Perry Central High School and 1985 and 1988 graduate of Indiana State University with the distinction of magna cum laude. Mrs. James holds a Master's Degree in Elementary Education with a kindergarten endorsement.
Mrs. James comes from a family of educators. Her teaching career was inspired by many close family members who are teachers. Her younger sister, Tina Goffinet, is also a teacher at Ferdinand Elementary School.
Mrs. James is in her thirty-second year of teaching at Ferdinand Elementary School. She is a member of the school's technology team, corporation technology team, mentor teacher, PTO board, and is an active member of the Southeast Dubois County Classroom Teachers' Association.
Mrs. James is married to Tony James and has three children, Tim, Aubrey, and Mackenzie. In her spare time, Mrs. James enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and working with technology.
In 2016, Mrs. James became a grandma when Lillian Mae Welp was born to her daughter and son-in-law, Aubrey and David Welp.
