My name is Stacy Kitchin and I am proud to be Principal at Ferdinand Elementary School.
Family and community are the foundation of Southeast Dubois Schools. I truly believe that a successful education is a joint effort between the school and the home. Communicating effectively with parents and the community is an important way to keep families informed of class activities, PTO, and school events. Bringing families into the school will remain a priority for us at Ferdinand Elementary School. Our school’s focus is always to strive for excellence. Ferdinand Elementary School is a four star school and a National Blue Ribbon School and was ranked 9th in the State in 2013-14, and 2nd in the State in 2014-2015. Our staff continues to work hard on implementing the new Indiana Academic Standards and innovative practices, as well, as integrating technology into their lessons. We are striving to prepare all students to be 21st-century thinkers and problem solvers. I look forward to continuing my educational journey at Ferdinand Elementary and to serving our students, staff, and families. I am privileged to be the mother of two adult boys- Clayton who works for United Airlines and Craig who was in the Army for 5 years, mother in law to Shawna and the wife of Tony Kitchin.
