Superintendent's Message

Mr. Allen

Richard Allen
Superintendent

I began my journey as an educator in 1983, teaching Agriculture here at Forest Park Jr/Sr High School. I could not have imagined at that time how many opportunities I would have over the next 34 years, and how many incredible people would come into my life through education.

In 1992, I was named Assistant Principal at Forest Park. For the next thirteen years I found solutions for students to find success.  Sometimes not always popular decisions had to be made, but the interest of the students never waned from my consiousness.

In 2004, I was named as your Assistant Superintendent working with transportation and curriculum throughout our school district. In January 2011, I was named Superintendent of schools. I am privileged and honored to be working beside so manydedicated teachers, parents, and community members who hold this corporation close to their hearts. Their passion for ensuring that ourstudents succeed in life is truly astounding, and a source of inspiration for me.

At Southeast Dubois, each of our students is more than a number, and certainly more than a test score. Although we are trained to use standardized test scores as benchmarks, I challenge each of you to become engaged in our schools to see first-hand the amazing work happening each and every day. We measure our success in this district individually, student by student. It will always be “Students First” here, and we make decisions to best serve the needs of ALL of them.

Our mission is simple.... Create Learning......  Every decision we make must fit into our mission. Our core values drive us to accomplish our mission one student at a time. No stakeholder is afraid of accountability in our schools.  We live for it! Our schools have always and continue to have high expections for everyone involved. Using shared leadership and evidence based decision making, being result focused,  and always looking for continued improvement sets our school district apart from the rest.
