On behalf of the Children’s Mental Health Month Committee, I would like to congratulate you on receiving a recognition award! The remarkable artwork that was submitted by your students for the “Your Mental Health Matters” art competition and showcase, helped to raise awareness and reduce stigma. We were able to display the artwork in multiple places, allowing the pieces to be appreciated by the public. We thank you and your students for participating!
We trust that with this financial award you will be able to continue to promote mental wellness through your art programs, supporting students and encouraging them to share their stories through their art. Research shows what you and your students undoubtedly already know – that participating in the arts improves cognitive function and memory, reduces stress and anxiety, increases self-esteem, and helps people connect with their emotions. Art Matters!
