Third Grade Art

View Events/Assignments for
In the Third grade art room, during forty minute sessions once a week, children learn the fundamentals of art — color, line, shape, form, and texture. In combination with the design elements — pattern and repetition, as well as, unity, harmony, and balance, students explore the world of art by painting and drawing, making collages, sculpting with clay, cutting and gluing, and talking about their work. Student growth is evident with each additional technique used during projects that strive to foster expression, cross curricular elements, and critical thinking skills.
  • Why Art?
Art is an important part of your child's early childhood education. Children are active learners, and making art is a hands-on activity that expands imaginations and exercises creativity. It also develops fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, and sharpens children's powers of observation. Try some art today!
